La Habra : Man Fatally Shoots Woman, Then Himself

With several bystanders looking on Sunday, a 62-year-old man killed a woman with five shots in the back and one in the head, then killed himself with a single shot to the head, police said.
La Habra Police Sgt. Joe Milazzo said William O. Martin of 901 N. Walnut of La Habra used a .22-caliber pistol to shoot Susan A. Spencley, also 62, in front of her home at 501 N. Lois St. at about 10:42 a.m. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Although five or six people witnessed the shootings, police have been unable to piece together a motive, Milazzo said, adding that police believe Martin and Spencley “were associated, but we don’t know to what extent.”
