Local News in Brief : Granada Hills Man Dies of Injuries After Fire

A 28-year-old man died of injuries suffered in a Granada Hills house fire early Sunday morning, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.
His identity was withheld pending notification of relatives.
The blaze broke out at 1:46 a.m. in the 16500 block of West Jersey Street in Granada Hills, Fire Department spokesman Jim Williamson said.
The victim, believed to be the only occupant of the house during the fire, was taken to Granada Hills Community Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation, where he later died, Williamson said.
The fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage to the structure, $10,000 to contents and $2,000 to an adjacent house. The cause was under investigation.
