Voting Set for Today in California Primary

Today is primary Election Day in California, highlighted by a spirited contest among Republicans for the chance to challenge Democratic U.S. Sen. Alan Cranston in November, and by Proposition 51, which would alter state law governing personal injury lawsuits. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
