AirCal Reports Near-Miss

PORTLAND, Ore. — An AirCal Boeing 737 landing at Portland International Airport came within 100 feet of colliding with a small private plane, authorities said today.
The close call occurred about 5:20 p.m. Thursday, said Dan Boyle, assistant air traffic manager for the Federal Aviation Administration at the airport. He did not know how many people were aboard but said no injuries were reported.
