Photo of Senior Event

I’m very upset to think that the picture of the pianist and dancing woman printed on May 30 gives an image of what Wachs Senior Center is all about. The people who work here (many are volunteers) plan classes, meetings, trips, entertainment and health services and offer information and advice. The many services rendered are too numerous to list here.
At the anniversary celebration, the folk dance class from the center performed dances from many lands. The new director spoke of her impressions after four months and presented Councilman Joel Wachs with an award. Wachs spoke and presented the center with a beautiful plaque from the city, and credits were expressed all around for the wonderful accomplishments.
I feel that the picture was a total misrepresentation of the 10th anniversary celebration at the Wachs Multipurpose Center for Senior Citizens.
