Carson : Rites for Mayor’s Husband

Leonard Fredrick Muise Sr., husband of Carson Mayor Sylvia Muise, died Friday after a 14-month battle with cancer. He was 49.
Muise was a design engineer for the electronic and defense division of TRW Space Systems in Redondo Beach. Born in Lynn, Mass., he lived in Carson for 22 years. He had an associate of arts degree from El Camino College.
Other survivors include children, Leonard Jr., 24; Michelle, 21, and Douglas, 18, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Wada.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Philomena Church in Carson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any contributions be in the form of donations to UCLA’s cancer research fund.
