El Monte : Rail Underpass Contract

County supervisors have awarded a $3.68-million contract for construction of an underpass on Peck Road at the Southern Pacific railroad tracks in El Monte. Security Paving Co. Inc. of Sun Valley won the contract by submitting the lowest of four bids on the project.
The underpass will eliminate delays now experienced by motorists who must wait for trains to pass and will prevent train-auto collisions. Work is scheduled to be completed by May, 1988.
