Activist Gets Delay in Anti-Abortion Case

DENVER — Anti-abortion activist Joseph Scheidler, arrested in Denver last week on Florida charges stemming from a protest at an abortion clinic, won a delay in extradition proceedings Wednesday and remained free on bond.
District Judge John Coughlin set a new hearing for July 24 after Scheidler’s attorney and the prosecutor said they had not received Florida documents detailing the charges.
Scheidler’s personal recognizance bond was continued and he was allowed to return to Chicago, where he heads the Pro-Life Action League.
