North Korea rejected an International Olympic Committee compromise to stage some 1988 Olympic events in North Korea, its national news agency reported.
The Pyongyang government has threatened to boycott the Seoul Games unless its demand to share the events equally is met.
Referring to talks between North and South Korean delegates at Lausanne, Switzerland last week, the statement rejected an IOC proposal to hold only a few events in North Korea under the supervision of the Seoul Olympic Organizing Committee.
