CHP Hearing: The California Highway Patrol has scheduled a public hearing on Friday to gather input into proposed routes for the transportation of certain types of hazardous radioactive material. The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ hearing room at 10 Civic Center Plaza in Santa Ana. The proposed routes in Orange County cover the San Diego and Santa Ana freeways. A CHP spokesman said the agency has proposed the routes to supplement the interstate highway system, adding that the state routes must meet minimum requirements for heavy truck use, year-round maintenance and available fuel and repair stops.
