Gilmore, Stonerock Decide on Colleges

Track athletes Jerry Gilmore of Polytechnic High and Kirk Stonerock of Saugus have signed national letters of intent. Gilmore will attend Cal State Northridge and Stonerock is going to Boise State.

Gilmore placed third in the long jump at the state championships with a personal best effort of 23-5. He also won the long jump and the triple jump at the City meet. He has a personal best of 45-11 in the triple jump.

Stonerock won the Southern Section 3-A title at 3,200 meters and finished second in the 1,600. He also finished second in the Southern Section 3-A cross-country championships last fall. He has personal bests of 4:12.36 for 1,600 meters and 9:10.51 for 3,200 meters.
