LOMA LINDA — Baby Jesse, who was rejected for a heart transplant until his unwed parents surrendered custody to the paternal grandparents, left Loma Linda University Medical Center today in his mother’s arms, less than one month after his surgery.
Jesse Dean Sepulveda, now 1 1/2 months old, was wrapped in white to protect him from the sun. Standing next to the mother, 17-year-old Deana Binkley, Jesse’s father said: “I’m real nervous now. I just want to take him home.” Asked what he hopes for his son, Jesse Dean Sepulveda, 26, said, “A long, long life and a happy one.”
