Second-Quarter Revenue, Net Increase for Ropak
- Share via
Ropak Corp., the Fullerton manufacturer of plastic packaging and shipping containers, said that second-quarter net earnings of $661,000 were up about 17% from $547,000 reported for the same period last year. Revenues for the quarter were $13.6 million, up 41.6% from $9.6 million.
For the first half, however, Ropak’s earnings dropped 1.4% to $847,000 from $859,000. Revenues for the six-month period rose 42.2% to $21.9 million from $15.4 million last year.
The slight earnings drop in the first half was attributed by William H. Roper, chairman and chief executive officer, to increased price competition, delays in the delivery of new tooling for its plants and one-time costs related to the company’s recent acquisition of plants in Texas and Japan.
