Anaheim Homes Left Without Power After Vehicle Rams Into Utility Pole

Electrical power and telephone service was knocked out to an undetermined number of homes in Anaheim on Saturday when a vehicle rammed into a utility pole on Ball Road, just east of Magnolia Avenue, police said.
After the 6:30 a.m. collision, a quarter-mile stretch of Ball Road was closed between Magnolia on the west and Velare Street on the east while workmen repaired the damage and restrung telephone and power lines, Police Sgt. Tom O’Donnell said.
Some homes in the area were still without power and telephone service at midday, but police were unable to determine the exact number, O’Donnell said. However, he said, “I don’t think it’s that extensive.”
The driver, whose name was not available, was slightly injured and taken to Western Medical Center in Orange, O’Donnell said.
