A Glendale claims examiner for a Los Angeles insurance company was found beaten to death last week after a neighbor alerted police that a man was yelling for help.
Earl C. Goulet, 58, of the 900 block of East Lexington Avenue, was found dead in his apartment by Glendale police shortly before midnight Friday, police said. A neighbor had dialed the 911 emergency number minutes earlier after hearing a man scream.
Police would not disclose any other details.
Goulet had lived in the apartment since March, 1985, according to police reports. He worked as a senior claims coordinator for Transamerica Occidental Life, where he had helped to start an Alcoholics Anonymous chapter, according to a company spokesman.
