Outdoors There’s Room for a Host of Things

What are “outdoor sports?” The Times’ sports section seems to have a very narrow definition of the term: The attempt to kill wild animals and fish.

Southern Californians use our public lands for a tremendous variety of activities: From hiking to hang-gliding, rock-climbing to river-rafting, and from bird-watching to foot races up Mt. Baldy. Yet, Earl Gustkey ignores all of these and does nothing but promote hunting and fishing.
