8 More Victims of Plane Crash Identified

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office Sunday officially identified eight more victims of the Aug. 31 in-flight collision between an Aeromexico DC-9 and a Piper Cherokee Archer II, including seven people who were killed in the airliner, which crashed in Cerritos.
This brings the total number of people officially identified to 37.
Coroner’s spokesman Bill Gold said more names will be released as identities are established.
Victims from the airliner:
Hector Cutierrez, 23, of South Gate.
Joe C. Guzman, 45, of Norwalk.
Robert Guzman, 18, of Norwalk.
Elizabeth Knight, 2, of Saugus.
Patricia Knight, 5, of Saugus.
Elva O. Leanos, 41, of San Jose
Sandy Stien, 39, of San Antonio, Tex.
Killed on the ground:
Toni Cronkhite, 8.
In Sunday’s editions, The Times incorrectly identified airline passenger Aurea Caro, 24, of Los Angeles as Maria Caro.
