S. Ross Brown was named president and chief executive of Pacific Telesis International, San Francisco, replacing Donald H. Sledge who, the company said, resigned to pursue personal business interests.
Brown was formerly president and chief executive of the publishing subsidiary of Pacific Telesis Group, whose main operating unit is Pacific Bell.
Pacific Telesis International markets telecommunications and information systems and services through subsidiaries in Korea, Japan, Thailand, Spain and the United Kingdom.
