One man died and another was seriously injured when an arson fire swept through a vacant five-story commercial structure in the 100 block of Alameda Street in Central Los Angeles. A transient who had been sleeping in the building fell or jumped from the roof, He was in critical condition at County-USC Medical Center. Another man was found dead, possibly from asphyxiation.
