RTD Bus Hits, Kills Pedestrian

An unidentified woman pedestrian was killed Friday when she was struck by a Southern California Rapid Transit District bus at a downtown intersection as she apparently stepped into the street against a traffic light.
Investigators said the woman had just stepped off the curb at the corner of 8th and Olive streets when she was struck by the bus, which was southbound on Olive, at 6:53 p.m.
A fire truck and paramedic unit were rushed to the scene, but the woman was pronounced dead.
