Another 115 cases of AIDS were confirmed in Los Angeles County last month, roughly twice the number of new monthly cases one year ago, an official said today.
September’s new cases, minus one previously reported case that turned out not to be acquired immune deficiency syndrome, bring the total to 2,251 countywide, said Dr. Martin Finn, AIDS program medical director for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. Of the total, 1,309 have died, for a death rate of 58%.
