New York state’s ban against public nudity does not infringe on an individual’s right of freedom of expression, the state’s highest court ruled. In a unanimous decision, the state Court of Appeals upheld $125 in fines imposed on Robert Hollman in 1984 for his nude sunbathing on the beach at Riis Park in the New York City borough of Queens.
