Amateur discus thrower Rick Meyer of Houston was suspended for drug use by The Athletics Congress, the national governing body for track and field.
Meyer, 25, a member of the Houston Track Club, tested positive for an unidentified drug after winning the discus in the U.S. Olympic Festival at Houston Aug. 1-3.
TAC did not identify the substance found in the test but said it was banned under International Amateur Athletic Federation rules.
