Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Inc. and MGM/UA Television Productions will open its new corporate headquarters at Culver City’s Filmland Corporate Center on Monday.
The $85-million center, at 10000 W. Washington Blvd., was completed in July by Filmcorp Group, a Canadian investment firm. The complex is the first stage of a $300-million, mixed-use development to be known as Culver Village.
MGM Pictures and MGM/UA Television Productions are moving from the Irving Thalberg Building, which has served as MGM’s headquarters since 1938. Designed by Maxwell Starkman Associates, AIA and Shree Mate, the eight-story, 820,000-square-foot Filmland Corporate Center is now 80% leased, according to Cushman & Wakefield, the project’s exclusive leasing agent, and slightly more than half of the building will be occupied by MGM.
