A 24-hour telethon in support of the Los Angeles Central Library’s “Save the Books” campaign will get under way today at noon, with a goal of collecting $2 million.
The telethon will air locally on Channels 30 and 56 and will be beamed across the country on cable stations via Rev. Gene Scott’s University Network. Scott, a Los Angeles pastor and member of the “Save the Books” blue-ribbon committee, will host the fund-raising broadcast.
