MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. — Rescue workers and dogs probed an avalanche site on a Mammoth Mountain ski run but found no victims and the search was called off, a Forest Service spokesman said today.
The avalanche, which hit one skier at 1:22 p.m. Thursday, triggered a search that lasted until 6 p.m. No one was believed to have been covered by the slide because the skier who was hit by the avalanche stated that he was alone on the slope.
