Orange County Prep Soccer : Velcek Scores 3 to Lead Orange Over El Modena

James Velcek scored three goals and David Shield had two Thursday to lead Orange High School to a 6-1 nonleague boys’ soccer victory over El Modena at Chapman College.

Velcek has scored 10 goals this season.

David Bjorklund had 10 saves for Orange (8-4-1). El Modena is 6-2-2.

In other nonleague matches:

Tustin 8, Costa Mesa 1--Scott Feldman scored three goals to lead the Tillers (7-3-1) at Tustin. Tom Kotlar, Lee Pooler, Kevin Villar, Matt Alexander and Craig Gill also scored for Tillers.

In girls’ action:

El Dorado 3, Loara 0--Nichole Eyre scored two goals and Mandy Odum added one for the Golden Hawks (2-2, 2-4-1) in an Empire League match at Loara.

Huntington Beach 0, Westminster 0--Oiler goalie Keri Kelter made 14 saves and the Lions’ Stacie Humphrey had 6 in a Sunset League match at Westminster.

Dana Hills 3, Newport Harbor 0--Megan Fosberg, Ann Viceroy and Corinne Dawson scored to lead the Dolphins (10-3-1) to a nonleague victory at Newport Beach. Dana Hills goalie Karla Gunderson had four saves.
