April Lockwood, a 12-year-old Crenshaw District girl who had been listed as the victim of a kidnaping, actually had “run away for the weekend and hooked up with friends and stayed at their houses,” Lt. Joe Freia of the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Division said. The girl was safely returned to her home by a woman who found April crying on her doorstep about four blocks from the Lockwood home. No charges will be filed, Freia said.
