Comedian Bill Cosby was named Atlantic City, N.J.’s, Entertainer of the Year in the seventh annual poll by Atlantic City Magazine. More than 4,800 people sent in ballots, the magazine said. Additional winners were: Al Jarreau, best male headliner singer; Liza Minnelli, best female headliner singer; Dom DeLuise, best headliner comedian; Manhattan Transfer, best headliner musical group; Rita Moreno, best variety headliner act; Norm Crosby, best comic opening act; Suzette Charles, best musical opening act and Maurice Hines, best variety opening act. The glittery song-and-dance extravaganzas at Atlantic City’s casinos also received awards. The best production show award went to the “City Lites” show at Trump’s Castle casino hotel.
