Minnesota’s anti-takeover law was validated.

Gelco Corp.’s defense against a hostile takeover was also upheld in the ruling Wednesday by the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. The ruling apparently ends the possibility of a renewed takeover attempt of the Minnesota-based leasing company by Coniston Partners, a New York investment firm. The case attracted widespread attention because of its implications for other takeover attempts.
