Hart (12-11) at Saugus (16-9), today, 7:30 p.m.: Saugus, the third-place representative from the Golden League, defeated Hart, the third-place team from the Foothill League, twice in nonleague games. Saugus, however, lost twice to Canyon, a team Hart defeated, 78-49.
Monrovia (14-11) at Agoura (7-14), today, 7:30 p.m.: Despite a winning percentage of only .333, Agoura slipped in as the third-place representative from the Frontier League. Monrovia, which finished third in the Rio Hondo League, has a good fast break behind the team’s leading scorers Steve Mency and Corie Blount.
Brentwood (11-10) at Chaminade (15-7), today, 7:30 p.m.: Chaminade’s Kevin Black is peaking at the right time. Brentwood, the third-place team from the Delphic League, has no one to match up with the 6-7 1/2 center.
Cathedral (13-10) at L.A. Baptist (16-5), today, 7:30 p.m.: L.A. Baptist, the second-place representative from the Alpha League, wins behind the balanced scoring of Mike Null (15 points), James Hoback (10) and Mike Wise (10). Cathedral finished third in the Santa Fe League.
Oak Park (10-10) at Bel-Air Prep (15-7), today, 7:30 p.m.: Oak Park’s first-ever playoff appearance comes courtesy of Brian Friefeld, who averaged 24.8 points a game. Bel-Air Prep finished second in the Delphic League.
