WASHINGTON — Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi cut short an official U.S. visit and will return home Saturday amid allegations of human rights abuses by his government, according to a revised schedule released today.
During his visit, Moi was dogged by allegations from Kenya and a report by Amnesty International that his government tortured and perhaps killed more than 100 nonviolent political opponents. He canceled a private visit to New York Saturday and will fly back to Kenya from Washington early that day.
