The death of Stanford University earthquake expert Allen Cox, 60, has been ruled a suicide. He deliberately steered his bicycle into a tree on the coast five miles from his Woodside home, the San Mateo County coroner’s office has ruled. He suffered fatal head injuries. Cox, a Stanford professor, was suspected of molesting the 14-year-old son of a former student.
