GANDER, Newfoundland — A Soviet airliner en route to Moscow from Havana skidded off a runway and its wing sliced through a snowbank early today as it was landing at Gander Airport.
No injuries were reported among the 190 passengers and crew, but the cover was torn off an engine on the aircraft. Another Aeroflot plane was to arrive tonight to take the passengers on to Moscow.
