Community College Roundup : Saddleback’s Softball Team Beats Rancho Santiago, 1-0

Kelly Decker singled home Kelly Thomas in the 11th inning Monday to give Saddleback College a 1-0 victory over Rancho Santiago in an Orange Empire Conference softball game at Saddleback.

Patty Taylor (14-1) gave up 4 hits and struck out 10 in 11 innings for the Gauchos (6-2 and 20-3). Joyce Lyman (10-3) allowed five hits and struck out five in 11 innings for the Dons (7-1, 13-6).

Saddleback 384, Palomar 387, San Diego Mesa 393, San Diego City 414--Jeff Mehlert of Saddleback shot a field-leading 2-under-par 74 to lead the Gauchos to victory at the Lake San Marcos Country Club in San Marcos.
