West Hollywood : Housing Panel to Begin Work

The West Hollywood Community Housing Corp., a private nonprofit organization created by the City Council to develop affordable housing for low-income residents, will begin operations on Wednesday.
The corporation plans to buy, rehabilitate or build affordable housing units for senior citizens, immigrants, couples and single residents, families with children and artists. The homes will be made available to low-income West Hollywood residents, aimed at 13% of the general population who pay more than 50% of their monthly income for housing.
The corporation’s newly elected board includes president David Etezadi, vice president Marla Baklin, secretary Steve Nahmias and treasurer Sal Guarriello. Other board members include Jim Bonar, Goldie Kahn, Trudi Lesser, Rae Mitchell, Rick Saslaw, Ann Sewill and Ron Silveira. The corporation’s executive director is Gale Trachtenberg.
