A Lemon Grove driver was killed late Monday night, and his passenger was slightly injured when the driver lost control of his car on a freeway access ramp in San Diego, the California Highway Patrol said.
The driver was identified as William Contreras, 32, and the passenger as Ben Oldakowski, 31, of National City. Contreras was attempting to get on westbound California 94 from Federal Boulevard when he lost control of the vehicle, which went off the ramp.
The car overturned and Contreras was pinned underneath after being thrown from the vehicle, the CHP said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
