JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man accused of being the “machine-gun bandit” who held up a string of fast-food restaurants has been sentenced to 10 consecutive life terms.
Anthony Payne, 25, was convicted of attempted murder, kidnaping and armed robbery in one of the crimes, in which three people were injured. Prosecutors said the sentence handed down Friday offers no chance of parole. Payne also faces charges in eight other robberies.
