MIAMI — Four Cuban men were rescued from inner tubes off South Florida, bringing to 53 the number of refugees who have made the hazardous voyage to freedom this year.
Three men who floated together on a raft made of three inner tubes told Coast Guard officers Tuesday that they set out from Cuba late Saturday.
A fourth man, floating alone on an inner tube, was spotted at almost the same time elsewhere in the Florida Straits and taken to Port Everglades.
