Gun Owner Charged After 5-Year-Old Boy Kills Little Brother

PHILADELPHIA — The owner of the gun a 5-year-old boy used to fatally shoot his younger brother was being held on $25,000 bail Wednesday, facing an involuntary manslaughter charge, police said.
Gerald Henderson, 23, also was charged with two counts of recklessly endangering another person and one of possessing a weapon while on probation, Sgt. Dennis Murray said.
Three-year-old Anwaar Smith was shot once in the forehead Tuesday with a .38-caliber revolver, police said. The shooting was ruled accidental.
The boys’ mother and aunt were asleep at the time of the shooting, and Henderson, the mother’s boyfriend, was outside the house, Detective Frank McGuoirk said.
