A five-acre grass fire was put out by the California Department of Forestry on Saturday, but not before the three-hour fire threatened two nearby homes near California 67 and Airmail Lane.
A CDF spokeswoman said the cause of the fire was suspicious because of its closeness to the highway, but that no incendiary devices were found.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries to his leg.
