A 26-year-old woman fought for her life today after becoming the latest victim of the two-month wave of roadway shootings that have left four people dead. Debbie Ann Scott of Pasadena was riding in an El Camino pickup truck on Avalon Boulevard at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday when someone in a passing car fired at the vehicle, said Detective Patrick Marshall of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police had no suspects in custody this morning, and Marshall said there was no indication the attack had been provoked. Marshall said Scott was shot while she and her sister were being given a ride by a friend after their car had broken down near Avalon Boulevard and 94th Street.
