Peter Jacobsen and his partner, Curtis Strange, birdied seven of the final nine holes to combine for a 10-under-par 62 and take a three-shot lead in the $500,000 Fred Meyer Challenge golf tournament at Portland, Ore.
Jack Nicklaus and his son, Jack Nicklaus II, were second at 65 heading into today’s second and final round of the 36-hole best-ball tournament on the 6,544-yard Portland Golf Club course.
