The Region : 4 Die in Camp Pendleton Copter Crash

Four Marines were killed when their helicopter crashed during training exercises over the Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton, military officials said. The identities of the victims were withheld pending notification of next of kin. A CH-46 Echo copter, called a Sea Knight, crashed about 9:15 p.m. in a remote inland area of the base called Case Springs, according to base Spokesman Lt. Gene Browne. He said the four crewmen died immediately in the crash.
