ATTITUDES ON SLOW GROWTH INITIATIVE
About two-thirds of the county’s residents believe that their cities have experienced rapid growth, with more women than men seeing it that way. Most residents would like to see some restrictions on growth, especially in the construction of industrial projects and offices. However, they favor those restrictions only around their own neighborhoods--they would like to see the county grow as a whole. Residents are not specific about their reasons for wanting growth limited; for the most part they believe that there are “just too many people around.”
