Local News in Brief : Woman Dies in House Fire

A woman died Friday when fire destroyed a small frame house in Santa Monica where she apparently lived alone.
Police Sgt. Bill Kemp said the fire began about 11:20 a.m. in the house at 809 Ozone St.
“Apparently the only source of heat was a four-burner stove,” Kemp said, adding that the stove may have caused the blaze.
The victim, believed to be in her 30s, was not immediately identified.
