Body of Man Found in Van Nuys Yard

The body of a man was unearthed from a shallow grave in a Van Nuys backyard, Los Angeles police said Friday.
A witness led police to the grave in the 7300 block of Katherine Avenue on Thursday afternoon, said Sgt. Mike Fino.
The body had been there “about a month or two,” Fino said. The cause of death had not been determined, he said. The man, who had not been identified, was in his late 40s or early 50s, Fino said.
