Adriano Baffi of Italy won the second stage of the seven-day Tour of Sicily bicycle race and took over the overall lead from fellow Italian Guido Bontempi by two seconds at Messina, Sicily.
Baffi finished the 112-mile course in 4 hours 40 minutes 1 second, edging a large pack of cyclists in a sprint over the last 300 meters. His average speed was 24 m.p.h.
