College Roundup : Bryant Busy as Titans Win Softball Final

Anjie Bryant pitched a two-hit shutout as Cal State Fullerton defeated the University of Arizona, 1-0, Sunday in the championship game of the Arizona tournament in Tucson.
Bryant (5-0) struck out two batters in winning her second game of the day.
In a first-round game, she pitched four innings in relief in the Titans’ 3-0 victory over Arizona State. She also picked up a save in Fullerton’s 1-0 victory over Cal State Long Beach in the semifinals.
In the championship game, Fullerton’s Debbie Schneider was hit by a pitch to lead off the second inning. After being sacrificed to second, Schneider went to third on a single by Missy Coombes and scored on a single by Cathi Hall.
Fullerton is 11-1 and ranked fifth in the nation.
In women’s tennis:
UC Irvine 6, Pacific 3--No. 4 singles player Kelly Goldsborough defeated Tiffany Lee, 6-4, 0-6, 6-3, to lead UC Irvine (8-2) in round robin play at the Nevada Las Vegas tournament. In doubles, the Anteaters’ Courtney Weichsel and Kathy Rose defeated Tiffany Lee and Julie Fairchild, 6-4, 6-3.
