Gary Hart is the second most accomplished writer among the candidates (after Paul Simon, a journalist before he became a politician). Hart is co-author, with Gary Lind, of America Can Win: The Case for Military Reform (Adler & Adler), which was widely and respectfuly reviewed when it appeared in 1986. Hart also has two spy thrillers to his credit: The Double Man (Morrow, 1985), co-authored with Sen. William Cohen (R., Maine), and more recently, a solo effort, The Strategies of Zeus (Morrow, 1987), now available in paper and reviewed on Page 14. Hart was also to have published, last spring, an autobiography entitled One Man’s Luck for Morrow, but that book has now been canceled.
